“I was pretty aimless before working with Kym, which is probably why I kept losing interest in fitness. Kym ‘forced’ me to create long term goals that make it possible to build a plan.  Pursuing my goals and following my training plan has impacted everything the research proves; I’m sick less, sleep better, and am generally happier. Also, my favorite outdoor activities are even more enjoyable now that I am in better shape, and I feel safer on solo expeditions.”

Goals I’ve trained for:

•    Solo backpacking the Outer Mountain Loop at Big Bend National Park

•    Backpacking fifty miles in the Wind River Range in Wyoming

•    Trail running and preparing for my first ultra-marathon

Challenges I’ve faced in pursuing my goals:

•    Working on my flexibility

•    Building a good base of fitness and strength for long runs

•    Adjusting to a higher training volume

Things I’ve learned in the process:

•    My focus is improved by understanding the “why” in relation to my goals

•    My effectiveness is improved by understanding the “why” behind the workouts

•    There’s no such thing as balance—just prioritization.
